Tough Problem: Study required the analysis of a skid structure designed for a reciprocating compressor package.
The structure experiences a variety of loading conditions such as lifting, FPSO movement including roll, pitch and yaw and unbalanced forces from equipment.
Practical Solution: Finite element analysis was performed and worst case scenarios of FPSO movement were analysed.
Other loading due to forces generated from reciprocating equipment were also considered.
Analysis concluded with a detailed fatigue assessment to ensure reliability.
