Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) can significantly improve structural/component designs by optimising for the dynamics of real world applications.

Simulating the structure or component helps to minimise weight, identify appropriate materials and reduce costs without compromising integrity.

Our Expertise

SVT's extensive experience in Finite Element Modelling and Analysis - supported by expertise in materials selection, fatigue, metallurgy, dynamic stress, piping design and vibration analysis - provides you with technical resources that are geared towards providing practical engineering advice.

To complement modelling predictions and troubleshooting of in situ problems, SVT can also provide comprehensive field testing services.

Establishing the experimental fatigue life of a component, verifying finite element model stress predictions using experimental stress analysis (i.e. strain gauging) and testing of components in-service to establish operating stress levels are all services we offer.

Field services cover the measurement of noise, vibration and stress. Strain gauging measurements cover both static and dynamic applications, including the use of telemetry for shaft strain measurements and impeller blade strain measurements.
