using data to provide site-wide improvement initiatives.
Client: Onshore gas facility
Tough Problem: SVT’s client needed help moving to a preventive maintenance program from a previously reactive/corrective program. Their existing program was leading to unplanned plant downtime, high maintenance costs and risk of maintenance induced failures.
Practical Solution: Using program KPI’s and Pareto Analysis, SVT was able to identify which faults were most problematic and common. We closed communication loops between key stakeholders (Operations / Engineering / Maintenance) and showed where targeted maintenance actions could be carried out, assigning each a consequence category based on risk matrices (using Condition Monitoring to influence maintenance strategy).
The bottom line: Unplanned maintenance work was reduced by 40 percent.
